On-grid – 500KWp to 1 MWp
Description
Design and optimisation of On-grid solar PV plants up to 2MWp for ground mount and roof-top applications.
Course Outline & Structure Content
- Overview of Components, modules, inverter, and mounting structure for ground-mounted PV systems
- Introduction to PV farm planning, yield prognosis, row planning, sun path, geological survey
- Introduction to PV farm planning, yield prognosis, row planning, sun path.
- Design-focused training for on-grid solar PV systems in the 100kWp to 1,000kWp range.
- Learn about technical design aspects such as space optimization, dealing with shading, PV string design principles and more.
- Hands-on exercises with interactive feedback sessions to clarify design principles.
- Learn how to optimize a solar PV system from a financial point of view. For example, does it make financial sense to increase the PV inverter loading ratio (PDC:PAC) at the cost of a lower solar yield?
Course Prerequisites
- 2 Years or more experience in the solar industry, or some experience in the solar industry combining (integrating) solar systems together, compiling energy needs assessments and some basic system sizing
- An understanding of grid-connected solar PV system components and their functions
- Some basic solar PV system design experience is important
- Basic experience with design software is essential (for example Helioscope, PVSol, PVSyst)
- Basic spreadsheet capabilities.
